Modern football comes from England, but its roots reach much further back. As far back as antiquity, in the rainforests of Mesoamerica, the Maya and Aztecs played Tlachtli and Pok-ta-Pok. And in the jungles of Southeast Asia, people played Sepak Takraw. These were all examples of games with a ball that you had to bring to the opponent's goal in teams, using strength, technique, tactics, and no hands (!). The harsh conditions of the jungle, however, made it more than a battle for points: it was a test of survival skills. This format honours these ancient traditions and brings today's football heroes to the place where the ball game once began — for an adventure they will never forget. Welcome to... Football Island
